Further thoughts and reflections

  1. What do you love about your job
Being surrounded by passionate people and world class problem solvers. My job is never dull.

  1. What do you think makes for a great team in the workplace?

Diversity of thought, passion and trust. Trust is key. If people feel trusted, they feel free to be themselves and they bring their best to the team.

  1. What’s the best career advice that you’ve been given?

Don’t settle for easy. If you feel that something can be better or there is an opportunity that will make you better, these are the moments that build a career.

  1. What career advice would you offer to others?

You never stop learning. Curiosity and appreciating the talent and expertise of others can take you a long way.

  1. What keeps you busy when you’re not at work?

I have three children (13,11 and 9) and am basically an uber driver and water bottle holder at sporting events in my free time.

  1. What’s an emerging technology that you’re excited about?

Perhaps beyond emerging status now but I think the potential of open super is fascinating. Anything that elevates awareness of super and it’s compounding benefits for members is something I am passionate about.

  1. If you could meet one person (present or past) to learn from, who would that be?

That’s such a difficult question! I am a massive music fan so pick from a list of Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon, Jeff Buckley, Kurt Cobain and about ten others past and present. Why? I think uniquely creative people bring a different energy to the world.

  1. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?

I would split time between New York and Agnes Water (Qld).

  1. What’s the best holiday that you’ve ever had?

I was fortunate to spend a month living with friends in New York (Manhattan) years ago. When you adjust to the pace and energy of the place, it’s an incredible experience.

  1. If you were to use a time machine that went both back in time or into the future, what time and where would you go to?

As a music fanatic, I would love to experience live music in the late 60s or relive the early 1990s.
